Walla Walla

Bandstand, Pioneer Park
Known as "the cradle of the Northwest" Walla Walla has a long history as a rich agricultural area. Wheat and Walla Walla Sweet Onions were the major crops. But there has been a change! The Walla Walla wine grapes have given life to the new wine industry. Oenology and viticulture have revolutionized the agriculture. With more than one hundred wineries in production the Walla Walla Appellation has been introduced and honored in the wine world.

Set against the Blue Mountain this charming college town is becoming a destination. With a history as rich as its soil Walla Walla offers plenty of draws for visitors. Museums, historic attractions, and a vibrant arts and music scene enrich the community. The Walla Walla Symphony is the oldest, continuously performing one west of the Mississippi. There are many art galleries, and summertime is filled with art festivals and blues and jazz concerts.

Outdoor adventure is close at hand. Hiking, mountain biking, hunting, fishing, water sports, and skiing are favorites. Four seasons means more outdoor activity.
